The Rapid7

Design System

In 2018, I joined the Rapid7 UX Visual Design Team, tasked with standardizing design elements across Rapid7's expanding product suite. The goal was to create a unified Design System. Challenges included naming conventions, component reorganization, and converting components into symbols for consistency. We also introduced global color styles to simplify updates.

The resulting Design System improved efficiency, consistency, and ease of use, benefiting the team in terms of rapid prototyping and handling complex components. Additionally, I introduced playful illustrated characters into our error pages and other subtle use cases for user feedback.

You can find images of the final designs here, but if you’d like to see a detailed case study, get in touch!
